  • Total Abandonment 2009

Last year Destiny World trusted us with designing the look and feel, and the marketing material for Total Abandonment Youth Conference. They called on us again to help make this year a success like last. This year, we have branded the Conference and every year from now on will have their own theme. This years is called One Thing. It is about the one thing I desire is a burning presence of God in my life. Here is what we came up with, a simple yet intricate typography design that explains it in one glance.

Here is a look at the website:

  • I Have Some Questions - New Sermon Series

One thing we love doing, is bringing a Sermon Series to life. Tony Miller and Destiny World asked us to brand and package his new series, I Have Some Questions. Here is the bookstore promotional poster.

  • Christians & Culture

Two months ago, Ambert Rodriguez Creative Director / Owner of Guez Works was featured in an article "Christians & Culture" in The Good News Newspaper.

"When it comes to creativity, Christians have made their mark in literature of all kinds – from popular fiction to acclaimed works such as Marilynne Robinson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, “Gilead,” he said.
“Music is the other place where Christians have been successfully offering up innovative cultural goods for at least a generation now,” he added.

From “American Idol” contestants singing contemporary Christian music selections to classically trained musicians performing works by Christian composers such as John Tavener and James MacMillan, Christian influence permeates music, he noted.

“We’ve always been a people of the word, so it makes sense that there would be a strong Christian presence in literature. We value music in worship, so Christians have done well in that area,” Andy Crouch said. “Where we have not been represented as much are in areas the church has either avoided or viewed with suspicion – film, dance and the visual arts.”

It goes on saying how some people are make a difference in the culture when it comes visual art and graphics, Guez Works Advertising has created design and advertising from web to print material for ministries and companies worldwide. • Total Abandonment

Total Abandonment is a youth conference held in Atlanta, Georgia. Destiny World Outreach hired us to design and make this youth conference attractive to a broad audience. During a long brainstorming meeting, we got inspired by this picture below.

The act of taking of the old and becoming new. So we decided to modernize it. Usually people define us by the clothes we wear or our outer appearance. So that is the very thing that we want to break off our lives, the things that hold us back.
We took some shots and worked up a lot of photoshop and illustrator magic. We also did research and found a website where young people post their thoughts on life and things in general. We found some very sad comments and posts about how some youth really feel about life and purpose. We used these posts as part of the background, as part of the things that are being Totally Abandoned. Below is the poster that will be given out at the conference. The rest of the material will have the same look and feel.
  • Sermon Series Branding Update

huAs per my previous post. Here is another sermon series design.

  • Sermon Series Branding

Being in Church Marketing for quite some time, and going to many conferences, it is hard to ignore the way some ministries market and brand themselves. Trying to reach a "today" culture with "yesterdays" material. I still see audio tapes being sold, cheezy graphics and starbursts. Don't get me wrong, the Word they teach is an amazing Word, I can never deny that, but the method of production and branding is way under par. Our heart is to help these ministries reach the people they should be reaching by creating great design that works. Design that speaks to the consumer to GRAB ME because this can change your life!

With that said, we just launched two new designs for Destiny World. We are pretty pumped about these, and know that they solve this problem.
